Made of sustainable oak, ply and steel, Space Trumpet,
a 9 x 9 x 9 metre computer-operated sculpture, was suspended from the underside of a platform 23 metres above ground.
A continuation of Shawcross's interest in the listening devices and acoustic location detectors that pre-figured radar, the 1.5 tonne sculpture is programmed to make a small
rotation on two axes once a day, taking 64 days to complete its cycle.
We are delighted to have this extraordinary piece of work as an integral part of our new London HQ. It adorns the building, will stimulate all those who work here or who visit us and is a great showcase for a great talent.
